Baron Wolman took photos of Jimi, Janis, all the greats. And you’ll get a chance to hear about it first-hand this weekend.

Wolman was a Rolling Stone magazine photographer from 1967 to 1970. Wolman’s early days with the magazine, photographing the major rock music stars of the day, made his reputation.

“I was one of the first guys there. I actually had stock in the company at that point,”  he once told me.

Wolman went on to publish a fashion magazine and later began marketing his rock photos in book form. He lived in Sonoma County for 12 years before moving to Santa Fe, N.M., in 2001.

The photographer will talk about his new book, ‘The Rolling Stone Years: Every Picture Tells a Story,’ at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4,  at Book Passage, 51 Tamal Vista Blvd., Corte Madera.
